Too often I was underestimating the significance of kindness, of doing good.
Being alone, at the other side of the world, I am always a stranger, trying to understand how things work.
More than once I got help from friends, or complete strangers, that dedicated their time and efforts helping me, even though they did not have to.
On this special day, Tishah Be’av, while we are remembering the outcomes of “unjustified hatred”, I am grateful for all the “unjustified love” which I encountered, for all the good people I have stumbled upon. And I am thankful, for their help and kindness, and also for their role in creating a better world.
